Summary

Eight Makerbots Replicator 2’s and two Replicator 2X‘s have replaced their lab of UP! printers to better meet with demands of students and the lab environment.

We recently upgraded the 3D printing lab in the Advanced Manufacturing Precinct at RMIT University here in Melbourne. Eight Makerbots Replicator 2’s and two Replicator 2X‘s have replaced their lab of UP! printers to better meet with demands of students and the lab environment.

The  lab has been useful for instructing students on the principles of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) and gives valuable hands on experience to this exciting field of prototyping and manufacture.

Students from Engineering and Design have been gaining valuable insights into the potentials of this new manufacturing frontier.

We are eager to see what students and researchers will do with them!
